The short version
Tidi works entirely on your Mac. It does not upload your files, their names, or your folder structure. There is no account to create.
What Tidi collects
Tidi does not collect:
- No name, email address, or account of any kind. Tidi never asks who you are.
- No analytics, usage metrics, session recording, or crash reporting.
- No advertising identifiers, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No file names, file contents, folder paths, or disk usage figures.
What Tidi reads, and where it goes
To organize your files, Tidi reads the following information on your Mac:
- File metadata. Names, extensions, sizes, and modification dates, so rules can match on them.
- Text inside files. If you enable a rule that matches on file contents, Tidi reads text in images and PDFs on your Mac. No image or document is uploaded, and the recognised text is used to make the match and then discarded.
- Your settings. Rules, pinned folders, and preferences are stored in your app container on your Mac.
- Undo history. Tidi saves a record of file moves on your Mac so you can reverse them.
Which folders Tidi can reach
You choose which folders Tidi can access. It remembers your permission between launches. Remove a folder from Tidi’s list to revoke access.
Tidi never writes outside the folders you choose, and it never reads your home directory wholesale.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the payment and tells Tidi whether Pro is unlocked. We never see your payment details, and we receive no personal information from Apple about you.
Apple's own handling of that transaction is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Children
Tidi is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If Tidi ever collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the App Store privacy label will change to match.
